Near Bits
These tools are named very appropriately as they are placed near the bit or in fact directly on top of the drilling bit. A Near Bit (NB) Stab has multiple functions. One of which is to fight against bit walks the bit draws towards the paths of least resistance. Stabilizers purpose is to center your BHA with your well bore, stiffen or lock your BHA to control drilling (stabilize) patterns as well as assist in keeping a straight hole. Stabilizers are great when used in bull nose clean out runs to ream threw ledges and other issues while straightening your hole to insure casing/liner to bottom. Near bit stabs will always have a regular API box looking down the hole to adapt or connect the stabilizer to regular API connection on the drilling bit, as well as being bored for float valve. In most cases near bit stabs are box by box, to adapt pin looking down the drill string, but are not limited from other adaptable connections (Including pin up) for cross over connection purposes. These tools come with either welded on blades or integral blades (IB) (Non Welded). ChrisCo offers both weld hard facing blades and tungsten carbide inserted with carbide composites blades for maximum wear resistance and longer life. Each tool is OD grounded for accuracy to meet your specific gauge requirements. These are typically 3 blades but not limited too. We also offer both minor wrap and full wrap depending on your application. Visit our NON MAGNETIC page. ChrisCo welcomes any and all custom designs to solve your downhole challenges.
